Working with a natural material like wood means you start to see your environment differently.
I work with a variety of wood when making toys; it really depends on what’s available. All of the timber is responsibly sourced and is genuinely sustainable having naturally fallen on my land. I like to leave dead wood on the ground to encourage flora and fauna – beetles and bugs love it, so I never take too much. We cut wood and then leave it to dry out for a few months – turning new wood is a bad idea because it tends to shrink and split.
